🗃️ On the 60th anniversary of D-Day in 2004, Andy Rooney recalled the Allied invasion of Nazi-occupied France as “one of the most monumentally unselfish things one group of people ever did for another.” He added, “If you think the world is selfish and rotten, go to the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking Omaha Beach.
